Poco más de 20.000 paraguayos están habilitados para votar en el exterior
ASUNCION, Paraguay Apenas 21.981 paraguayos residentes en el exterior fueron habilitados para votar por primera vez en las elecciones generales del 21 de abril, informó el miércoles la Justicia Electoral.
El padrón definitivo de 3.516.273 electores fue distribuido a los diferentes partidos y coaliciones polÃticas como parte de los preparativos para los comicios generales.
La cantidad de autorizados a votar es superior a los 2.861.940 ciudadanos en condiciones de sufragar en 2008 cuando ganó la presidencia el ex obispo católico Fernando Lugo, destituido en junio de 2012 en un juicio polÃtico en el Senado por mal desempeño en sus funciones.
El escaso número de inscriptos en el exterior se debió a la baja asistencia de migrantes paraguayos a las o <a href={url}>{keyword}</a> ficinas receptoras en Estados Unidos, España y Arg <a href={url}>{keyword}</a> entina, p <a href={url}>{keyword}</a> rincipalmente, en el periodo de registro establecido entre noviembre y diciembre de 2011, explicó Alberto RamÃrez, presidente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia Electoral.
De los 21.981 residentes en el exterior 11.812 son mujeres y 10.169 son varones.
Los paraguayos elegirán presidente, vicepresidente, 45 senadores, 80 diputados, 18 parlamentarios del Mercosur y 17 gobernadores departamentales con sus correspondientes legisladores locales en los comicios de abril.
